Implementing the Program With a well-designed workplan, twinning partners already have a roadmap for implementing their twinning program. However, certain twinning activities can be unexpectedly time-consuming and logistically complex. In particular, coordination of travel exchanges and conferences or training events can be very taxing on partnership coordinators. This section of the toolkit includes a variety of forms and templates to aid in the implementation of various types of twinning activities, including travel and conference planning.1. Orienting Partnership Program Participants - Many of the people involved in the partnership may not have any previous experience working with an international twinning partnership. If your partnership involves a number of different staff, it may be useful to develop some orientation materials, dealing with programmatic, logistical, and/or travel-related/cultural issues.
2. Planning a Conference or Training Workshop - From developing an agenda and training curriculum to organizing meals, travel, and local transportation, conferences and workshops can be an overwhelming endeavor. 3. Supporting Partnership Exchanges - Twinning partnerships rely on the sharing of expertise between the partners, and much of the success of the program depends on the ability of the partners to meet face-to-face. The logistical and programmatic arrangements for exchange visits can be time-consuming. AIHA has developed a series of guidelines and forms for its partners to use to help ease the process.
4. Preparing Press Releases - While not essential, the use of press releases and other publications can help to raise the profile of your partnership and potentially help in the search for additional funding.
